Ngā mihi o te tau hōu! (Happy New Year)

Come down to Silo Park for the final weekend of Matariki celebrations. Three days filled with entertainment, activities, art and kai.

Silo 6 will be the beating heart of the weekend. Each space of the Silos will offer a unique experience while collectively sharing Matariki stories and offering free interactive experiences to salve the soul and warm the senses in the cold chill of winter. This is a celebration of ahikā, the fire within us that holds fast to the land, the fire of creation and enlightenment and the flickering stars in our skies. The Silos will be transformed into Te Whitia, a space for sharing matauranga (knowledge) through kōrero (facilitated discussions), music, workshops, the art installations of ngā wāhine toi Natasha Keating and Bethany Matai-Edmunds and @kahurangiariki Smith Art’s immersive video game MāoriGrl that will provoke and enthral.

A broad range of kai will be available from some of Auckland's best street food vendors with Food Space Presents Puna Kai. Meander and graze from your favourite food trucks who will be serving up international food with a traditional Māori cuisine twist! Mana whenua leader, artist and gourmet hangi specialist Rewi Spraggon will also be offering the delights of Aotearoa from Hangi Master on Saturday and Sunday. On top of all this, The Silo Park Bar will be back and serving up its world-famous mulled wine to warm your puku!
